Free Cartoonize for Ps CS2
We use this action to create artistic images for Orlando FL Tours. It makes any photo looks like a paint without loosing any detail.
As you see in the images on the left, the original photo before cartoonize and the after photo looks almost the same but they are not. Because of the size of the images you can't notice much difference. But in the hi-res image the details are awesome.
There are some flaws with the action. It will work with images like the one you see, not too dark and not too light. With darker images it works even better but with lighter images you might need to change some blending modes, hide any layer or both.
If you try to run this action in PS CS3 I suggest to save all open projects before to execute. Sometimes works but most of the time will make the software to crash. Also, the blending modes might not behave as they do in previous software.
I suggest to download the Actions for CS3 if you planning to use this on your new version of Photoshop.
This action was used instead of the paint effect becuase it keeps the original colors without adding any gray areas as happened with the colored pencil effect. Also because it keeps all the details even though it adds paint strokes. Simulate even better the hand paint than the original Photoshop effects.
